Can I play for real money?

We only offer play money games. We are not an online casino!
You can compare this poker room to a poker set you bought in a toy store.

Can I play poker privately with my friends (for free)?

Yes.
Just create a private table, send the link to your friends and start playing. All you need is a browser on your PC or tablet and a webcam / headset.

Can I use unmasked.poker commercially?

Commercial use is not for free, please contact us while we are working on solutions.

Do I have to register / create an account to play on unmasked.poker?

No.
All you actually have to do to play is create or join a private table and choose your player name. But you are welcome to sign up to take advantage of our club features.

What do I need to play?

All you need to enjoy the full unmasked.poker experience is a webcam, a headset and a stable internet connection.
You also need a web-browser installed (We recommend Chrome. Firefox, Safari and Chromium should work fine as well).
Additionally, you need someone to play poker with. From there you can treat unmasked.poker like a poker-set you can buy at a toy store.

Troubleshooting

I am getting an error "not in a hand right now". What does that mean?

This can happen if you click on the same button (e.g. "check") again, before the last click was processed from the game servers.
Normally you can ignore this error. If you notice anything strange, please try to reload the page.

My game seems stuck. Other players are telling me it is my turn, but I cannot make a move. What is happening?

Just reload the page. Please note that it might be necessary for every player to do so.

The other players at my table can not hear or see me, what can I do?

Depending on the system the individual players are running and their internet connection, this can happen sometimes.

Please follow these steps:

- Step 1: Reload your page. If you have any way to communicate with your friends, please ask them to do the same if the problem still persists.
- Step 2: Open the settings window by clicking the gear (⚙️ )- icon in the sidebar on the right side or by pressing the F7 key. On the left side, click on "video chat" and make sure that the correct Video and Audio devices are selected.
- Step 3: When you arrive at the table you will be asked to give the browser permission to use Camera and Microphone. You can always check those permissions in your browser settings. Please note: Some browsers let you give access to the devices through a little lock (🔒) - icon in the address bar.
(On MAC: Open the <Apple menu>, go to <System Preferences>, click <Security & Privacy> and open the <Privacy> pane. Select <Camera> / <Microphone>.)
(On iPad: Be sure to use Safari AND to request the mobile Website in your browser. Otherwise you won’t be heard by other players and vice versa)
- Step 4: Other Apps can interfere if they are also using your Camera or Microphone. Sometimes it is necessary to close those Apps to be seen or heard at the table.
- Step 5: Be sure to use the Chrome browser to play on unmasked.poker. Other browsers (like Safari, Chromium, ... Firefox...) should work as well though. Also make sure that your browser is up-to-date and the newest drivers are installed on your device.
- Step 6: Go back to Step 1.

The video or audio of one or more players at the table suddenly stopped working. What can we do?

Reloading the page is the solution here in almost every case.
Please note that it might be necessary for every player to do so.

We found a bug / there is an error that does not go away. What should we do?

Most things are running quite stable now. Still, it is not impossible for an issue to occur which is preventing the game from continuing.
In this unfortunate scenario, we can only suggest creating a new table and continuing the session there.
We would be enormously grateful for any kind of feedback you want to give us on Discord. If you could also give us the table name, that would be ideal.

Game

Can I use hotkeys?

Yes. You can turn them on in the settings.

They are all located near the numeric keypad:

- : fold
/ : check
* : call
+ : raise/bet
0 : start next hand
F7 : open Settings
F8 : open Balance
Space : Push-to-Talk
c: cycle through color schemes

You can also use the numpad to easily type in your next bet or raise, followed by '+' to confirm.

How can I look up a players mucked cards?

Open your protocol panel in your sidebar, click “Show past hands” and find the hand in question. Now hover over the line where it says “player mucked”.

How can I play against bots?

At cash game tables, the host can fill free seats with our not-so-smart bots at any time and also remove them again.
If there are still free seats, other players can now join tables where bots are already present.

How can I rearrange / resize a players video or the table?

Hold down the Shift key to enter the layout mode. You can resize elements by moving the mouse over them and turning the mouse wheel or move them with drag and drop.

How do I use the Chip Display Unit - setting?

To display stacks and bets in big blinds instead of chips, use the setting "Chip Display Unit".
Please note: This setting only affects you, not the other players at your table.

I left the table (accidentally or on purpose). Can I go back and continue playing?

Leaving a table and returning later on is possible.
Keep in mind, that you will have to use the same environment or have to be logged in, if you want to continue as the same player. Deleting cookies, changing your browser or device without a login will make it impossible to do so!

Other players at my table are having a loud conversation, but I need to concentrate on the hand I am in, what can I do?

Hover over any player to find the option to tone her or him down or even mute them.

Clubs

Can I found a Club for free?

Yes. Right now it's completely free to open a club, invite friends, and play at your own club tables.
At some point in the future, clubs will cost a small monthly fee. When that time comes, we will communicate this openly.

How do I create a Club?

Just go to https://unmasked.poker/, sign in with your Google account or create an account with your e-Mail address and click "Clubs" at the top of the page.
Here you can start a new club and also find all the clubs you are already a member of.

How do I invite new members to my Club?

Any "Inviter" and "Manager" of a club can go to either the "Games" or "Tournaments" tab and click "Copy Invitation Link" on the far right of a table's row.
This link can be sent to a non-member, who will then be asked to choose a club username and then taken directly to that table or mtt lobby.
A second option is to create an invitation link in the Members tab that will redirect the invited person to the club page.

What are Club Roles?

Club roles give special rights and functions to the members who hold them.

- Manager: Only role that enables a member to assign roles to other members. Has the rights and capabilities of all the other club roles.
- Coach: Has access to unmasked.poker coaching features. Needs to acquire coaching privileges at his clubs tables in the sidebar.
- Floorman: Can kick players in his club's sit&gos and mtts (needs to be assigned by the host in the mtt lobby/participants before the start). Needs to acquire floorman privileges at his club's sit&go tables in the sidebar. Can be assigned to an MTT by the host (beneath the participant list). Assigned floormen cannot play in an MTT.
- Inviter: Can create and send invitation links in members page or directly to a club game or tournament.
- Brand Officer: Has access to the club's "Branding" options (color schemes, background picture).
- Treasurer: Is allowed to send his own chips to other players

Tournaments

How can I "rebuy" to a tournament?

Rebuys are not possible yet. We are working on it 🤞

How can I actually start the MTT?

As soon as you are finished with your tournament settings and the list of “participants” is complete, you can start the MTT by clicking "Start tournament" in the lobby.
Only the host (creator) of the MTT can start it. Every player will then automatically be brought to his table.

How can I change the settings of an MTT?

Only the host (creator) of a tournament has access to the tournaments settings in the tournament lobby (and ONLY BEFORE it was started).

How can I create a new Multi-Table-Tournament (MTT)?

You must be member of a club.
On your club page, you will find the tab “Tournaments”.
Here you can create a new MTT. It will then appear in the list below. When you click it you will go to the tournament’s lobby.

How can I create a single-table sit&go?

Sit and Gos can be created in the tournament tab of the club manager.

How can I invite other players to an MTT?

All participants must be members of the club in which the MTT was created.
You can invite non-members via the invitation link in your club's tournament list (they will then join the club and be brought to the MTT’s lobby).

How can I participate in an MTT?

Anybody who wants to play (even the host) has to click “Join Tournament” in the lobby. She or he will then appear in the list of the participants.
Please note, that you can join the lobby’s Video Chat conference WITHOUT being a participant!

What about late registration?

Yes, you can now register for a tournament after it has already started. This is known as "late registration". To do this, simply open the tournament lobby and click the "Register" button. Please note that the length of the late registration period will vary depending on the tournament and may be limited.

What are managed tournaments?

In managed Sit&Gos and MTTs only a club's floormen can kick players. Kicked players will be sitting out.
Removing a player from a tournament completely is not possible yet.

What are the most important things to remember when organizing a tournament?

After a tournament has started you will NOT be able to change the tournament’s settings!

Technical

Can I play with a private or inkognito browser?

We HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST doing so.
unmasked.poker is creating anonymous user accounts for the players and specifically only collecting data that is necessary to make the game possible.
Hence, you will NOT be able to return to the table and continue playing with that same user account (for example after you closed your window or you lost your connection to the table).

Do you support smartphones?

Yes. We recommend using a laptop or desktop, but tablets and cellphones were played on successfully. Apart from the obvious disadvantage of a smaller screen, you can certainly try to join a table.

I do not have a webcam, any advice?

Yes: You can easily use your smartphone as a webcam.
There are multiple apps that enable your smartphone as a webcam. Just search for "webcam" in your app store.
